Born in El Salvador but raised in North Carolina, Lisbeth Carolina Arias, also known as Caro, uses her love for fashion and design to stay connected to her beginnings and serve communities that are often overlooked and undervalued. As a young girl growing up in rural NC, fashion design became the first outlet that didn’t have a language barrier. Caro studied Fashion and Textile Design at North Carolina State University, interned in community-focused brands in Guatemala, Brazil, Mexico, and Italy, and worked for several fashion studios, including Vera Wang, in New York City, all before starting her clothing company, Descalza.
Today, Caro has leveraged her fashion design background to empower others by transforming their style. She believes that fashion is the skin you choose to put on every day. By understanding the elements and principles of fashion and your body, she’s positive that anyone can gain the confidence to understand their closet and walk out their door ready to make a statement.
